Thank you for using Drive Folder Re-Color (“the Add-On”). Your privacy is extremely important, and this Privacy Policy explains what information is accessed, how it is used, and how your data is protected.
Drive Folder Re-Color accesses only the minimum Google Drive™ data required to perform folder-coloring actions:
When you use the Add-On, it may access:
Folder ID
Folder name (title)
Parent folder ID (used only for identifying sibling folders)
The list of subfolders in the current directory
Folder color metadata (folderColorRgb)
No file contents are ever accessed.
The Add-On does not open, view, download, or modify file contents of any kind.
During multi-step operations, the Add-On temporarily stores progress information inside your Google™ account using Google’s PropertiesService.
This temporary data includes:
Number of folders processed
Total number of folders
List of pending folder operations
Current batch index
Temporary color-palette index
Previously used color (to avoid duplicates)
This information is stored only inside your Google™ account and is automatically deleted when:
Batch processing completes
You click "Cancel"
The Add-On resets
No other data is retained.
The Add-On does not access:
File contents of any kind
Documents, Sheets, Slides, PDFs, images, or any other non-folder files
User identity information
Emails, contacts, calendars, or any personal data
Drive files outside the folder(s) you explicitly select or the directory they belong to
We do not:
Store your data on external servers
Transmit your data outside Google’s secure environment
Collect analytics
Run advertisements
Track usage
Sell, rent, or share data with third parties
All operations occur entirely within your Google account.
Determine which folders you select
Identify sibling folders when coloring a full directory
Apply color updates using the Google Drive API
Track progress during batch operations
Maintain stability and prevent failed operations
No data is used for marketing, analytics, personalization, or user profiling.
The Add-On requests the following Google OAuth™ scopes:
Used exclusively to:
Read folder metadata
Apply folder color updates
Allows the Add-On to detect which Drive™ items you selected.
Used to display the interface.
These permissions are required for the Add-On to function and are not used for any other purpose.
The Add-On retains no personal data.
Temporary batch data is removed:
Automatically when batch operations complete
Immediately when you click Cancel
Whenever the Add-On is restarted
No long-term storage exists.
We do not share any information with:
Third parties
External servers
Other users
The developer outside of anonymous Google Marketplace™ analytics
The Add-On cannot transmit or export your data outside Google’s ecosystem.
Drive Folder Re-Color relies on Google’s authentication, storage, and permission systems.
All coloring operations occur through the official Google Drive API, which manages:
Authorization
Encryption in transit
Access enforcement
The Add-On introduces no external servers, databases, or network transmissions.
You may revoke the Add-On’s access at any time:
Google Account → Security → Third-Party Apps with Account Access
Once revoked:
The Add-On loses all permissions
No data remains stored
You may also uninstall the Add-On through the Google Workspace Marketplace™.
We may update this policy as needed.
Any changes will be reflected with a new Last Updated date at the top of the page.
